Community Behavioral Health offers two alternative programs for those convicted of an OVI/DUI offense or a misdemeanor offense involving drugs and or alcohol.

Program Descriptions

The Decisions Driver Intervention Program is a 72-hour driver intervention program, designed for individuals arrested for an OVI/DUI offense involving alcohol and/or drugs. This three day, overnight program provides research-based curriculum certified by the State of Ohio. This program is an alternative to the mandatory three day jail sentence for an OVI/DUI offense.

The program includes the following:

  • Remedial driving 2 point reduction class.
  • Education regarding the physiology of alcohol and other abused substances.
  • Identifying the signs and symptoms of chemical dependency.
  • Stress management as an alternative to chemical use
  • Referral assistance to appropriate community based programs as needed.

Program payment and location

$340 for a double occupancy room
$480 for a private room

The Countermeasures program is a two-day, 16 hour, drug and alcohol educational program geared toward misdemeanor offenses such as open containers, underage consumption and drug paraphernalia. It is most commonly applicable for individuals who have positive drug screens or suspected drug problems.
